Refugee
Refugee status is available to certain individuals who are outside of the United States and unable or unwilling to return to their home country because they have suffered persecution or have a well-founded fear of future persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
Â
Unlike asylum, which is generally sought by individuals who are already in the United States or arriving at a U.S. port of entry, refugee status is typically obtained while the individual remains outside the United States through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
Â
At Raul Rodriguez Law, we assist refugees and their families with immigration matters after admission to the United States, including family reunification petitions, adjustment of status applications, work authorization, travel documents, and the path to lawful permanent residence and U.S. citizenship.
Â
We understand the challenges refugees face in rebuilding their lives and are committed to helping individuals and families establish a secure future in the United States.
